Four Year Experience with Mandatory Seasonal Influenza Immunization for All Personnel in a University Medical Center

      Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends annual Influenza (flu) vaccination for all healthcare workers (HCW), and yet the national average for HCW flu immunization is only 64%. While mandatory immunization is required for many vaccine preventable diseases as a condition of employment, flu vaccine typically has not been required in US. We aimed to make flu immunization for all healthcare personnel (HCWs, volunteers and students) a routine practice at our institution.
