It is well known that healthcare professionals as well as cleaning staff have important
role in the pathogens dissemination; therefore education of cleaning staff is highly
relevant in the prevention of nosocomial infections. The aim of this study was to
assess the degree of knowledge regarding infection prevention among cleaning staff
in a hospital in São Paulo, Brazil, before and after a training program.
