“Infection prevention” and “epidemiology” were not words commonly heard in dinner
table conversations, but the past 3 years have changed that. As professional societies
working in these fields, we see the world’s collective focus on ways to prevent transmission
of respiratory viruses as an opportunity to advance agendas related to infection prevention
and control in our communities, the nation, and the world
